Rick Dietz
Rick Dietz is a co-founder (with Larry Mongin and his brother Ryan Dietz) of Humanetrix, a Bloomington-based technology-oriented non-profit organization. Rick is a founding partner of Stranger's Hill Organics a local Bloomington Certified Organic farm and Cardinal Spirits, a startup Distillery. Rick has served as the Director of the City of Bloomington's Information and Technology Services (ITS) Department from 2004 until the present. Rick previously served in Monroe County Democratic Party leadership as Chair of the Monroe County Democratic Party, as well as Vice-chair and Secretary. Rick is also involved with other community organizations, sitting on the advisory council for IU Informatics' Serve IT Community Information Technology Clinic, the advisory committee for Local First Bloomington and others. Rick currently serves as the District 4 Council Member on the Monroe County Council. He was elected by caucus into the 4th District Council seat on December 11th, 2011 to fill a vacancy. District 4 includes downtown Bloomington and is mostly within the Bloomington Corporate boundary. Through the Council, Rick has served on the boards of the Environmental Quality & Sustainability Committee, BEDC board and Downtown Bloomington Inc.
