Talk:Monroe County
From Bloomingpedia
Interesting, should places like Prospect Hill be considered more of a region inside Bloomington. I always thought of Prospect Hill as more of a neighborhood, but its a big neighborhood at that. Not really a modern subdivision. Someplace like the new Northpoint (jokingly called Cridersville in a city hall meeting) still has a Bloomington address but is definately distinct. Or the Cascades. What should we do with these? Suburbs? -- Mark 05:46, 21 February 2006 (GMT)
- I was wondering the same thing; I added Prospect Hill and Van Buren when I noticed the others in there, but it didn't feel right somehow. Perhaps the neighborhoods would be better served from a seperate "Bloomington neighborhoods" page, or something. Cooley 06:12, 21 February 2006 (GMT)
- Now I see that your "neighborhood associations" section on the Bloomington Community Portal page also fulfills that purpose. Can one assume that most, if not all, of the neighborhoods in Bloomington have an association.? Cooley 07:02, 21 February 2006 (GMT)
- I like Dave's idea of creating a Bloomington Neighborhood page. I think HAND has a listing somewhere that I've seen. Neighborhoods are much more informal (though some are very clearly defined by city planning documents). -Chrobb 12:42, 21 February 2006 (GMT)
