10th Street Stadium
From Bloomingpedia
A 20,000-seat stadium built in 1925 that was located on 10th Street at Fee Lane; this is the current location of the Arboretum. It is most famous for being in the film Breaking Away. Memorial Stadium, built in 1960, replaced the 10th Street Stadium for major events, including IU Football games. The 10th Street Statium was demolished in 1982 and the area was converted into an Arboretum.
Herman B Wells seemed to credit the architectural firm of Lowe & Bollenbacher with its construction, but official records indicate the building was constructed by the Osborne Engineering Company.
