  • 29th - Homer Oliphant is found shot to death behind the wheel of his car in Stanford. A grand jury concludes he was murdered.
  • A new Masonic temple is opened to the public for the first time. The edifice, costing nearly a half-million dollars, is viewed by members of the Kiwanis club, escorted by Thomas J. Sare and Stacy Harrell. They visit all three floors, and view the Bloomington skyline from the pyramid on the roof.
  • Frank Bowman is arrested for illegal possession of liquor after a ten-gallon still is found on the farm on which he used to live.
  • Construction begins on the Ingal's stone mill at the Junction one mile north of town, where the Pennsylvania

crossed the Monon.
