The Davis Hardware Company buys the first auto delivery wagon used in Bloomington. It was run by Thomas Baker.

May 4th: A gang of whitecappers, apparently including Tobe Snoddy, whips Harvey McFarland. Snoddy later becomes the first man ever convicted of whitecapping in Indiana.

Judge James B. Wilson rules for the city in a case where a building is alleged to be in the right-of-way of 3rd Street. The city had begun to pave the street and filed suit to have a building owned by George P. Campbell at the Walnut Street intersection removed.

Willie Hoadley, 13-year-old son of J. W. Hoadley, breaks through the ice while skating at the Monon Lake on the west edge of town. His 12-year-old cousin Paul Hoadley, son of Bert C. Hoadley drowns in the rescue attempt.
