Kelvin Sampson
Kelvin Sampson is a former Hoosiers head basketball coach from March 28, 2006 to February 22, 2008. Sampson came to IU from the University of Oklahoma, where he led the Sooners to a 279-109 record and 11 NCAA tournament appearances in his 12 seasons and left as NCAA sanctions drew near.
On February 22, 2008, he announced his resignation as IU basketball head coach, following a second set of allegations that he had telephoned recruits more than was permitted under NCAA regulations. After the second scandal, Sampson said that he would leave the team so that they wouldn't get so much negative media attention.
