March
- 3rd - A remonstrance recently having been passed outlawing the sale of liquor, a saloon in the Bowles hotel and the Tuck Adams saloon on west Kirkwood Avenue are forced to close when their licenses expire. Also, Coyle's Bakery and restaurant opens.
- 15th - Mr. Timberlake, the cigar and billiard man, rents the Knights of Pythias and Red Men building, moving from his location next to the new Tourner Hotel.
- 17th - The northbound Monon passenger train goes off the tracks at Horse Shoe Bend south of Harrodsburg. 20 people were injured, including W. T. Hicks, Mrs. Will Smith, and W. F. Robinson of Bloomington.
- 23rd - The McNeely cash grocery at 213 north Walnut Street opens.
- 30th - Thirty Harrodsburg residents file a remonstrance against Moses Corder, who was attempting to obtain a liquor license. At about the same time, a new saloon opened in the Brissenden room on south Morton Street between Kirkwood Avenue and 6th Street. It had opened just before the remonstrance and had just nine months to operate before being closed down again.

- Moses Fell Dunn sells the land that would comprise the Margaret McCalla Elementary School to the Bloomington city school trustees, for $5000.
- 31st - An injunction is upheld against the Indianapolis Southern Railroad, preventing the corporation from extending a line through a corner of Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

19th - The Indiana University Student Building is dedicated.

- "Spunk" Jones shoots and kills Al Stephens after an argument about correct change.
November
December
- Joseph Fulkerson shoots Tilghman Lentz and Gorman Lentz on his farm near Dolan. There had been bad blood between the families for some time.
- Henry B. Gentry buys the William McCullough Building, at the corner of Kirkwood Avenue and Walnut Street, from Melvin Faris for $9,000. The building was occupied by the Henry & Kerr Bakery, but Gentry intended to put a new building on the site.
- Mayor and Mrs. Claude G. Malott have the Faris property at 4th and Washington Street remodeled. Griffy and Walker have the contract and $2,5000 in improvements are made.
