- Stacy White is killed while cutting down trees when a tree falls on him. Just 23 years old, White had recently purchased some land from James Shaw, about seven miles southeast of the city on Knight's Ridge. He left behind a widow and a two-year-old son. White was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. White.
- The city buys a site on 2nd Street from Morton C. Dodds in order to build a new, $125,000 grade school.

- 3rd - Frank Neff, a hooker at the Indiana Limestone Company, is crushed by falling stone at the Crescent Quarry northwest of Bloomington.
- Cleadis E. Kinser, a partner in the Superior Dry Cleaners business, petitions for a dissolution of the partnership. The other partner was Edward J. Meister.
