The Pete Athens café next door to the Elks Home on south Walnut Street reopens after a remodelling. The cafe specializes in short orders, special dishes, and a drink called a P.D.A.
March
- 4th - Several Depauw University students are injured in a two-car crash at the intersection of SR 46 and Knightridge Road.
- With the nation mired in depression, the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce proposes issuing several thousand dollars of its own currency.

- Robert Ellis, Sr., owner of the Ellis Floral Company, passes away.

Ralph Rogers buys the George P. Campbell Farm from Dr. Stocking of Illinois for $5750. The farm contains a large two-story brick house and adjoins the Mrs. Nannie Rogers farm at the eastern edge of the city.
The Fred Campbell Service Station opens for business at the former Hesler Brothers location on south College Avenue. It handles Phillips 66 oil and gas and Lee Tires.
- 21st E. Lane Wells purchases half of the Wylie Furniture Store on the east side of The Square. The store had been run by Charles Wylie until his death, and his heirs took little interest in the business. Wells intended to sell off the stock and replace it with more fashionable designs. Wylie's father had originally erected the elegant three-story stone building housing the store.

- 13th - Police shoot and kill Otto Perring on SR 67. Perring, a chauffeur for Harry Johnson, head of the Bloomington Limestone Company, had abducted Edna Silvers Parker from Bloomington, and was apparently trying to take her to Indianapolis at the time of the shooting.

- 15th - Bobby Helms is born in Bloomington
- 21st - Waste oil and gasoline in a creek catch fire and burn the side of Emma Lawson's restaurant and Rodey Newport's garage, both at 211 North Rogers Street.
