Mrs. Silas Mason leases property at Walnut Street and 2nd Street to an oil company for a filling station. There are already said to be 16 filling stations on Walnut.

The General Stone Sales Corporation incorporates. The incorporators are William Wilmes of Chicago, and W. H. Johnson, Kenneth Cline, Alfred A. Beck, and D. G. Wylie, all of Bloomington.

Sheriff Ray Stevens arrests Emmett Patton, Peter Baxter, and Alfred Frye and charges them wih bootlegging. His police car is set on fire while searching for the still.

Real estate operator A. B. Faris passes away at his home, the Woodburn House after a three-week illness.

George Syra is shocked by a 66,000 volt high tension wire near Arlington. It is unclear what he was attempting to do.

June 29 - Kroger leases the room formerly occupied by the Bender and Welch Dry Good Store.

The paving of SR 46 from Bloomington to McCormick's Creek State Park is completed. The road had been closed for some time, forcing traffic to Ellettsville either to go by 11th Street to Hensonburg Pike and past the Ed Stone farm, or via Woodyard Road.

The Eagles Clothing Store announces the opening of a new basement store under their existing location, managed by Chester Kirk, former manager of the Newton Shoe Store.

The Thrasher Cafe at the corner of Fess Avenue and Atwater Avenue is damaged by fire. Billy Thrasher owned the cafe, but the building had been sold by M.B. Atwater to an Indianapolis firm.
